Record & import
Record your screen
Capture a walkthrough with your microphone, camera, and optional Companion effects.
Open My videos → New video → Record your screen. Before starting, close notifications and remove any information you do not want viewers to see.
Set up your recording
- Turn Microphone on if you want to narrate. Choose the correct microphone device and allow browser access when asked.
- Turn Camera on if you want a camera bubble. Select the camera device and check the preview.
- Turn System audio on to capture sound from the tab or screen, and also tick Share audio in the browser’s picker.
- Open Polish & quality to adjust Automatic effects, cursor size, click highlight, and recording quality.
- Select Start recording, then choose a tab, window, or screen in the browser’s sharing picker.
- Allow the three-second countdown to finish and begin your walkthrough. Use Cancel during the countdown to stop.
If a microphone or camera cannot be used, Continue without it lets you proceed without that device. You can add voiceover later.
Choose what to capture
| Choice | Best for | Check before starting |
|---|---|---|
| A Chrome tab | A website or web app | This is the capture mode to use with Companion’s automatic effects. |
| A window | One application | Floating windows, including a teleprompter, may be visible in the capture. |
| An entire screen | Moving between applications | Everything visible on that screen may appear in the video. |
For important recordings, make a short test and listen to it before continuing. Browser and operating-system permissions can affect the available devices and capture choices.
Pause, finish, and save
Use the recording controls to pause and resume. Finish the recording when you are done; you can also stop from the browser’s sharing bar.
On the review screen, play the recording, enter a Video name, and choose the Language spoken. Select Create my video and keep the page open until the editor appears. Discard permanently deletes this take, including its recovery copy.
Add Breezier Companion
Companion adds captured pointer movement and click information to Chrome tab recordings. It helps Breezier create editable zooms, click highlights, and callouts.
- Open Chrome extension from the workspace navigation, or Set up companion in the recorder (shown when Companion is not detected).
- Follow the installation option shown on that page.
- With the Breezier workspace page open, click the Companion icon in the browser toolbar. The icon shows ON when the site is connected.
- Reload tabs that were already open when you installed or updated Companion.
- Start a recording and select a Chrome tab in the sharing picker.
Window and entire-screen recordings keep the original cursor and do not get these automatic effects. Browser internal pages and the extension store cannot be tracked. A smooth replacement cursor is available only when the browser supports hiding the original cursor.
Review automatic effects before sharing, especially any callout text that may reveal a control label.
Recover an interrupted recording
Reopen the recorder and look for Recover. Items under Saved on the server offer Create video; items under On this device offer Recover. Available recovery depends on what was saved before the interruption.
Use the same browser and device when looking for a local recording. Avoid clearing browser data or discarding recovery items until you have recovered your take. If nothing appears, see Troubleshooting.
